Afgelopen donderdag twitterde ik nog vol enthousiasme dat ik de Disney tickets besteld had. Ik betaalde $ 29,- extra om de kaartjes met 2 werkdagen binnen te hebben. Want tja naar Mickey gaan zonder entreekaartjes, dat kan niet.
Binnen 2 uur kreeg ik een mailtje dat de tickets opgehaald waren door FedEx. Keurig kon elke stap gevolgd worden. Op vrijdagochtend om 9.15 uur Nederlandse tijd is de zo fel begeerde enveloppe vertrokken vanaf de FedEx locatie in Indianapolis om vervolgens ruim 24 uur in het luchtledige te zweven.
Zojuist check ik toch nog even, tegen beter weten in, de status en zie ik ineens in het rood de volgende melding staan:

Ik klik door om de info te lezen en lees het volgende:

FedEx Express® shipments to and from this area have been delayed. Additionally, because of this situation, FedEx Express is not currently accepting shipments utilizing these services to Europe:
- FedEx International Express Freight® (IXF)
- FedEx International Economy® Freight
- FedEx International Airport-to-AirportSM
- FedEx International Premium®
The situation remains very fluid and we are closely monitoring the airports. FedEx will resume flight operations as soon as possible. Additional information will be posted on fedex.com as it becomes available.

Bellen heeft natuurlijk geen enkele zin, want ik weet ook wel dat zolang ons luchtruim dicht is, ik kan wachten tot ik een ons weeg. Als ik de geleerden op tv en internet mag geloven zal het nog wel even gaan duren.
Vooralsnog ga ik er nog steeds vanuit dat wij over 14 dagen, MET Disneytickets op zak, in het vliegtuig naar de States zitten. Al moet ik bekennen dat ik niet weet hoe lang ik deze positieve instelling kan volhouden.

He dat is nog even spannend Patricia, zal wel goed komen met de tickets .. Althans daar gaan we maar vanuit. Hopelijk gaat het hele vlieg circus binnenkort weer van start en vallen de tickets gewoon op de deurmat. Op dit soort ongein zit je niet te wachten zeg.
Ik duim met je mee hoor, wij vertrekken ook 1 mei.......maar de voorpret is ook hier gedaald en kunnen alleen maar afwachten.

Ja, denk je alles op tijd geregeld te hebben... balen hoor!! Maar goed, als we zelf maar in dat vliegtuig terecht komen (en terug zien we dan wel weer), toch?
Ik zal heel hard voor jullie duimen. Ik ken het gevoel (maar dan met sneeuw). Maar volgens mij moet het wel heel gek lopen als jullie niet weg kunnen.
